10″ dia. – $325.
Inspired by the tree farms near Allentown, NJ, and the mountains of Vermont, this personal landscape glorifies the magical arrival of the migrating snow geese. They move around as a group creating the look of a blanket of snow! Fired painted details (the geese and tree trunk) as well as carved flashed glass (the barn) are used. “Tree Spirit” details are hidden in the tree trunk. The stand is optional. Hanging loops and chain can be added.

The contrast of urban and rural life is the theme of this personally significant piece. The focus is a small fused panel. The buildings, intended to look dull, are all permanently painted and fired.
I have witnessed the loss of open space in New Jersey far too often. This represents a particular farm and vista that was a favorite of mine that disappeared with the construction of this close packed neighborhood. Cardinals were often seen here flying in front of me. It was this kind of activity that led me to find a home with beauty and open space, thus our move to Vermont.
Spirit of Spring – SOLD!
13″ X 21″ – $750.
Inspired by “Le Printemps” (The Spring) by Eugene Grasset, this piece is from my Tree Spirit series. The flowering tree top is painted intensely by both applying paint and removing paint with my own handmade wooden tools. The swallows have personal meaning.

Behind the old mill in Allentown, NJ, where I had a gallery for many years, the many domestic ducks and geese made it their home. The border design here was inspired by the the children’s author and illustrator, Jan Brett, who had a story in the border art work on each page. All details are permanently painted and fired. It is framed in zinc.
