Single Session Projects:
These classes offer an introduction to stained glass for beginners or those with minimal experience for age 13 and above. All tools and materials are provided for use during the workshop. Workshops are designed to encourage individual artistic expression. Students usually work on the same project, but each is done with an individual interpretation and unique personal design.
Contact me for flexible scheduling. Just bring a willing and creative attitude. Minimum of 4 students, maximum of 6. Prepayment is required.
1. Tree of Life
This is a required first class in which you will learn basic glass cutting, foiling and soldering. You wll create a free form copper foiled tree with assorted leaf colors and a bird on top! This is an intensive yet satisfying way to learn with individual creativity. All materials included.
There will be a 30 minute break for lunch. 9:00am to 3pm.
Approx. 5 hours. – $95

After you have done the Tree of Life class, you may choose from any of the following single session workshops:
2. Sunburst
Prerequisite: Tree of Life
This project can be done with straight cuts or flowing curves around a circle. Use my pattern or design your own to create a copper foiled radiating multi toned amber sun. Materials included. 4 – 5 hours.
$95.
3. Quilt Squares
Prerequisite: Tree of Life
Learn to make accurate straight cuts. I will provide 2″ precut squares, 1″ strips, an assortment of beveled glass and many design ideas. Create a bold colorful copper foiled geometric design of your own. Materials included. 4 – 5 hours.
$95.
4. Birds on a Branch
Prerequisite: Tree of Life
This project will use the ancient lead came technique.
Create a free form bird or 2 on a twisted lead branch with glass leaves and optional flowers. Use my pattern or create your own.
Materials included. 4 – 5 hours.
$95.
5. Beveled Star
Prerequisite: Tree of Life
A shimmering clear beveled glass star will be bordered with stripes of red, white and blue of my pattern or use any color desired with your own design. Students will learn to make straight cuts from precut strips. Materials included. 4 – 5 hours.

6. Feathers (not shown)
Prerequisite: Tree of Life
Make one or more feathers of your own design and colors. This workshop is for both beginners and experienced students. For advanced students, a mobile is a possibility! Materials included. 4 – 5 hours.

7. 3D Flower or Succulent (not shown)
Prerequisite: Tree of Life
Make leaf or petal shapes that will be soldered into a 3 dimensional design. This workshop is for both beginners and experienced students. Pieces can be inserted into a clay pot (included) or finished as a hanging piece.
Bring snug fitting leather gloves if possible for handling hot pieces. (Check your local thrift shop.) Materials included. 4 – 5 hours.

Other Instruction:
Private or Semi-Private Instruction
$80. per hour for one student, 120. per hour for 2 students. Minimum one 3 hour session: beginning, intermediate, or advanced. Materials for a Tree of Life if selected, included, but other materials not included but can be purchased. Use of tools, equipment, and chemicals included.
Advanced Studio Time
$440. for up to 4 people for minimum of 4 hours. Individual consultation and instruction available. Experience required. Additional time @ 100. an hour for group. Additional students (6 max) @ $110. per student for 3 hours. Use of equipment and chemicals included. Materials can be purchased.

Stained Glass I at CCV
Earn 3 college credits at CCV in Rutland, VT, 15 classes, 2 3/4 hours each.
Wednesdays, 12:15 to 3pm, starting Sept. 4th.
“Students explore principles and practical applications of the skills needed to properly handle stained glass. The course will concentrate on the basics of the craft and color interaction. Students will learn the copper foil technique and will be introduced to the lead came technique.”
Academic emphasis on the history of stained glass and research is also included.
Students over age 65 can attend CCV tuition-free!
A materials and registration fee may be required.
